Hello!
I've got a questions about women's ike jackets. I know that there was so many styles for them, so I'm curious: can I transform enlisted men's ike to the women one?

Hi Marie,

Men's ike jackets were indeed converted into women's style. There are also pictures showing women wearing the men's jacket without any changes.

Greetings,
Katy

Katy,
sorry to bother you again, but can you send this photos? I found some by myself, but I'd love to see more, if it's possible.

Hi Marie,

I have pictures showing WAC personnel wearing men's ike jackets in my private archive, which I want to publish in my book about WAC. So please understand that I won't post them here on the forum. And at the moment, I have no time to search for other photos on the internet.

However, if you have already found pictures yourself, I guess seeing more pictures is not of that great importance.

Greetings,
Katy

The second volume of the Women for Victory book series will be released in the end of November. It covers the WAAC. However, most of the uniforms presented in this volume were also later worn by the WAC.

For more information see here:
http://www.blitzkriegbaby.de/wfvbook/book1.htm

The ike jackets will be covered in the third volume about the WAC on which I am working at the moment. It's still quite some work ahead - sigh. Thus, I can't tell yet, when it will be finished.

Greetings
Katy

Hi Anne,

Thank you so much for your compliments about my first book and, of course, I hope that you will enjoy the second one in the same way. Wink

@ Dorota

I will post any updates on the availability of the third volume as soon as this is possible. But it may take at least one or two more years until it will be finished I am afraid.

Greetings
Katy
