1944 WAC Enlistment Procedures Manual, Exhibits 2

My columns beginning August II 2009 to date contain the entire document including front matter, contents, main text and the exhibits from the actual Army Service Forces Manual M-208, Procedures for Enlistment in the Women’s Army Corps, AUS, issued by the Headquarters of Army Service Forces on October 2, 1944. This column concludes the material pertinent to this vintage wartime manual.

The first exhibit presented here is Exhibit E, QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATE (AAF) for Enlistment in the Women’s Army Corps and Initial Duty Assignment with the Army Air Forces. This exhibit pertains to Section V COMPLETION AND DISPOSITION OF RECORDS, Subsection 29. QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATES, Paragraph (a) Preparation, Subparagraph (2) Army Air Forces General Assignment, which can be referenced in my October 2009 column within the image of WAC Enlistment Procedures Manual Section V, page 12.

The second exhibit presented here is Exhibit F, QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATE for Enlistment in the Women’s Army Corps (to serve with AGF – ASF) with No Designated Station of Initial Assignment. This exhibit pertains to Section V COMPLETION AND DISPOSITION OF RECORDS, Subsection 29. QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATES, Paragraph (a) Preparation, Subparagraph (3) Army Ground Forces General Assignment and Army Service Forces General Assignment, which can be referenced in my October 2009 column within the image of WAC Enlistment Procedures Manual Section V, page 12.

The third exhibit presented here is Exhibit G, QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATE for Station and Job Preference Statement, Women’s Army Corps. This exhibit pertains to Section V COMPLETION AND DISPOSITION OF RECORDS, Subsection 29. QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATES, Paragraph (a) Preparation, Subparagraph (4) Station and Job Assignment AAF, AGF and ASF, which can be referenced in my October 2009 column within the image of WAC Enlistment Procedures Manual Section V, page 12.

The fourth exhibit presented here is Exhibit H, INDORSEMENTS for Station and Job Preference Statement, Women’s Army Corps. This exhibit pertains to Section V COMPLETION AND DISPOSITION OF RECORDS, Subsection 32. SERVICE RECORD, Paragraph (a) Preparation, Subparagraph (2) (j) Indorsements, which can be referenced in my October 2009 column within the image of WAC Enlistment Procedures Manual Section V, page 13. These endorsements are filled out in all cases when a member deserts or is transferred from one company or detachment to another company or detachment and in all changes of station except with an organization.

The fifth and final exhibit presented is Exhibit I, a sample of Special Orders calling members of the Women’s Army Corps to active duty. This exhibit pertains to Section VI ENLISTED RESERVE CORPS & ACTIVE DUTY ORDERS, Subsection 35. SPECIAL ORDERS CALLING ENLISTED WOMEN TO ACTIVE DUTY, which can be referenced in my November 2009 column within the image of WAC Enlistment Procedures Manual Section VI, page 14.
