1944 WAC Enlistment Procedures Manual, Part 4
.
My columns beginning August II to date contain the front matter, contents and main text of the actual Army Service Forces Manual M-208, Procedures for Enlistment in the Women’s Army Corps, AUS, issued by the Headquarters of Army Service Forces on October 2, 1944. The remaining portion of the manual contains the charts and exhibits referred to throughout the text and their presentation will conclude this series.

The first section presented here is Section 6, Enlisted Reserve Corps and Active Duty Orders. This section covers the special orders transferring enlisted women to Enlisted Reserve Corps status and special orders calling enlisted women to active duty.

The second section presented here is Section 7, Travel, Lodging and Subsistence. This section covers travel to and from the examining station and to the active duty station; lodging of applicants and subsistence for applicants.

Finally, Section 8, Reports, covers the method of rendering periodic reports of enlistment, the wording of such reports, the title of the periodic radio report of WAC Enlistments and use of SGO Form No. 467, Report of WAC Enlistment Examinations.

The back matter inclusive of the height and weight chart and exhibits of various affidavits, qualification certificates, indorsements (sic) and active duty special orders within this vintage wartime manual will be presented in future columns.
